Route Introductions

How are the routes used?
Veloce Santiago is the only Southern California membership by invitation only bicycle club. Founded by Robert Kahler, owner of Santiago Cycling, Veloce Santiago is focused on riding together with safety, build individual and team fitness levels and build long term friendships while having a good time.

Veloce Santiago rides out of Santiago Cycling located in downtown Tustin at the corners of 1st Street and Prospect. We ride four days a week, Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. The Saturday and Sunday rides leave out of the parking lot promptly at 7:30 am. On Tuesdays and Thursdays there is a morning ride group that leaves prompty at 7:15 am and an evening group that leaves at 5:30 pm. In the fall and spring when evenings are short, Robert runs training clinics that can replace the evening rides.

The Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday rides are open to Veloce Santiago club members only.

The Saturday ride is open to both club members and to the public and follows one of four routes that are about 25 to 30 miles long: Alton Flats, Turtle Rock, Bake, and Orange Hills.  We ride in three seperate groups: A, B, and C. The A and B groups are team members only, the C group is open to team members and guests. The Saturday ride is a slower paced ride that provides an opportunity to socialize with friends and practice the technical skills of riding in a pace line.

Saturday rides are longer, 60 to 100 miles and faster paced, as fast as you want or can go.

Tuesday rides are intervals and hill sprints.

Thursdays are medium length fast paced rides of around 40 or 50 miles.
